Privacy
Last updated October 19, 2026. Short version: your puzzles live on your phone and in your own iCloud. We only see what you choose to share with your pals.
Without an account
Everything you log stays on your device and syncs through your own private iCloud database, which we can't read. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token, your notification choices and time zone, so we can send the reminders and offers you opted into, and keep pal news quiet overnight.
With a Last Piece account
- From Sign in with Apple: a stable account identifier. We don't store your email address.
- Your profile: the display name, emoji, colour and handle you choose, your invite code, whether puzzlers can find you by name (off unless you turn it on), and whether you share your shelf with your pals.
- Your pals: who you're friends with, pending requests, and who you've blocked.
- Shared puzzles: puzzles you tag a pal in and, if you turn on Share my shelf with my pals, the puzzles on your shelf: their photos (finished puzzle and box), stats, notes, place name and the names of who built them, and whether one is on the table right now. Only your accepted pals can see them, never anyone else. Puzzles you don't share never leave your device except through your own iCloud.
- Pal news and cheers: with your shelf shared, a note to your pals when you start or finish a puzzle or earn a badge (the badge's name), and who cheered which puzzle or badge.
- Puzzle invites: for each invite link you make, the name you gave the person, the puzzle's title, brand, piece count and box photo, and who accepted it. Your first name and those puzzle details are visible to anyone who has the link until it expires after 60 days; then the box photo is deleted.
- Activity and reports: your inbox (requests, tags, pal news, cheers, announcements) and any reports you send.
We don't sell data, show ads, or track you across apps.
Deleting your data
Turning off Share my shelf with my pals deletes the puzzles nobody is tagged in, their photos, and the news you sent your pals. Cancelling a puzzle invite deletes it and its box photo.
Delete your account in the app (Settings → Puzzle Pals → Delete account; Settings → Account in version 1.0). It removes your profile, friendships, everything you shared and its photos, your invites, cheers and news, and signs out your devices. Your own puzzles stay on your phone.
