Last Piece

How can we help?

Last Piece is made by a tiny team who love puzzles as much as you do. Most answers are below; if yours isn't, send us a note and we'll write back.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Your puzzles, photos and stats live on your iPhone and sync through your own iCloud. A Puzzle Pals account (Sign in with Apple) is only for friends: visiting each other's shelves, tagging each other and cheering each other on.

How do I back up my puzzles, or move to a new iPhone?

There's nothing to press: every puzzle syncs to your own private iCloud by itself, so a new iPhone picks up right where you left off. Make sure you're signed in to iCloud (iPhone Settings → your name → iCloud) and that Last Piece may use it; Settings → Your puzzles in Last Piece shows how syncing is going. Version 1.0 also offers Export a backup in the same place.

What's free, and what does Lifetime add?

Your first two puzzles are free, with the rebuild, the shelf, the timer and stats. Last Piece Lifetime is one purchase, not a subscription: keep every puzzle you finish, plus every rebuild effect, the Lake Cabin, Seaside and Midnight Library shelves, every frame, the alternate app icons and the Home Screen widgets. It's shared with your Family Sharing group, and puzzles friends tag you in never count toward the free ones.

How do I restore Last Piece Lifetime?

Open Settings in Last Piece → Last Piece Lifetime → Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple ID that bought it.

How does the puzzle timer work?

Tap + → Start a puzzle and the clock starts. It keeps running on your Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and on your Apple Watch, with Pause and Finished buttons right there. Tap Finished when the last piece goes in, snap the photo, and it's on your shelf.

How do I find my Puzzle Pals?

Open the Pals tab, tap Find your Puzzle Pals, agree to the community rules and sign in with Apple. Then tap Find pals to search by name or handle (for people who've turned on Let puzzlers find me) or to enter a friend's code, or tap Invite to share your own link or QR code. In version 1.0, pals are in Crew → Pals.

How does tagging work?

Once you're pals, pick a pal in a puzzle's Who built it to tag them: the puzzle lands on their shelf too, box and all. Either of you can take yourself off a puzzle at any time from its … menu.

Can I invite someone who isn't on Last Piece yet?

Yes. In a puzzle's Who built it, tap Invite someone and send the link however you like. When they join, you become pals and the puzzle is waiting on their shelf. The link works for 60 days; to take it back, tap their name in Who built it.

What does "Share my shelf with my pals" do?

With it on (Settings → Puzzle Pals), your pals can visit your shelf, see what's on your table, and get a little note when you start or finish a puzzle or earn a badge. They can cheer you on, too. Only people you've said yes to as pals can see it, never strangers. Turn it off any time: puzzles nobody is tagged in, and the news you sent, are deleted from our servers.

Can I stop pal news waking me up?

Pal news never arrives between 10 pm and 8 am where you are; it waits in your inbox instead. To stop it completely, turn off pals' news in Settings → Notifications.

What can someone see from a puzzle invite link?

Your first name, the name you gave the person you're inviting, and the puzzle's title, brand, piece count and box photo. Anyone with the link can see those until the invite expires after 60 days. The first person to accept becomes your pal and gets the puzzle on their shelf; after that the link only makes pals. Cancel an invite any time from the app.

How do I report or block someone?

From the … menu on a pal, a pal request or anything they shared, choose Report or Block; Unfriend and Block are also on each pal's page. Blocking removes their puzzles and news from your shelf and inbox, closes your shelf to them, and stops their requests, tags and cheers; they aren't told. We review every report within 24 hours.

How do I delete my account?

In Last Piece, open Settings → Puzzle Pals → Delete account (Settings → Account in version 1.0). It removes your profile, your pals and everything you shared from our servers. Your own puzzles stay on your iPhone and in your iCloud.

Which devices does Last Piece work on?

Last Piece is made for iPhone, on iOS 18 or later. The timer also shows on Apple Watch, in the Smart Stack.
